Floatation tank

Floatation tank

Floatation offers a deeply calming moment of recovery for both body and mind. In the floatation tank, body-temperature, highly saline water gently supports your body, allowing your muscles to relax and leaving you feeling weightless. As external sensory stimuli fade away, you can drift into a state of deep rest.

Floatation supports recovery, helps you recharge and creates space to completely let go.

The floatation tank is located in a private room to minimise external stimuli and allow you to focus entirely on yourself. The floatation room has its own shower and toiletries, so you can shower before and after your float.

Your floatation session lasts 90 minutes in total, including 60 minutes of floating and 30 minutes to unwind and shower before and after the experience. Afterwards, you’re welcome to move to the Lounge, where you can enjoy a cup of coffee or tea and savour the calm, peaceful feeling that follows your float.

Floatation relaxation

Frequently asked questions

A floatation tank is a relaxation treatment where you float in warm, highly saline water, free from the usual external sensory stimuli. The feeling of weightlessness and the minimisation of sensory input allow you to fully unwind and enter a state of deep relaxation.

The total floatation experience lasts 90 minutes. The actual floating session lasts 60 minutes, during which you relax in the floatation tank. The remaining 30 minutes are reserved for preparing before the float, as well as showering, getting dressed and taking your time after the experience.

Floatation may offer a range of benefits for both body and mind:

  • May help relieve tension in the neck and shoulders, as well as muscle aches
  • May provide relief from tension headaches and migraines
  • May ease joint discomfort and chronic pain
  • Can help calm an overstimulated nervous system
  • May reduce stress and anxiety and promote a sense of relaxation
  • Regular floatation may support better sleep and help with sleep-related difficulties
  • The relaxing effect of floatation may support circulation
  • Can support recovery after exercise or physically demanding work
  • Minimising external sensory stimuli allows the body and mind to enter a state of deep rest

You don’t need to bring anything with you for your float. We provide a bathrobe, towel and toiletries. You can choose whether or not to bring a swimsuit.

Before your float:

  • Avoid caffeine. Caffeine can keep your nervous system stimulated, making it more difficult to fully relax.
  • Eat lightly. A full stomach can feel uncomfortable when lying down.
  • Avoid shaving for 24 hours before your float. Shaving can irritate the skin, and salt water may cause stinging or discomfort on freshly shaved skin.
  • Remove contact lenses before floating. For safety reasons, contact lenses should always be removed before entering the tank. If salt water gets into your eyes, it may cause discomfort and the lens can adhere tightly to the eye.
  • Remove jewellery before entering the tank. The high salt concentration may cause jewellery to tarnish, and jewellery can also feel uncomfortable and distract you from fully relaxing.

You don’t need to close the floatation tank lid during your session. The lights inside the tank can be adjusted, and you can also open the lid at any point during your float.
The high salt concentration in the water keeps you naturally buoyant, allowing you to float effortlessly throughout the session.

Yes, you can fall asleep in the floatation tank. As your session comes to an end, the tank’s gentle cleaning cycle begins. The water starts to circulate, calming music plays and the lights gradually come on softly. This signals that your float is coming to an end.

A floatation tank is not suitable if you have any of the following:

  • Open wounds
  • A skin infection
  • Epilepsy
  • You are under the influence of alcohol or other intoxicating substances
  • You have recently applied self-tanning products
  • You have dyed your hair within the past two weeks

We have two floatation tanks, so you can enjoy a float at the same time as a friend. Our services include a Float Together option, which allows you to book both tanks at the same time.

How often you float depends on your individual needs. Your body can begin to relax from the very first session, but regular floatation can help deepen the relaxation of both body and mind over time.

The water temperature in the floatation tank is approximately 34.5–35.5°C. This is close to the temperature of your skin, helping create a sensation of weightlessness as you float.

High standards of hygiene are maintained through automatic multi-stage filtration, UV sterilisation and the high salt concentration of the water, which helps keep the water clean. All surfaces are also manually cleaned and disinfected regularly.
